Cultural life of Lithuania is boiling all year around. We have lots of concerts, festivals, lively cultural events and exhibitions. Our country is full of choirs, symphonic and chamber orchestras, theater companies, contemporary dance troupes, opera and ballet artists. You will  definitely enjoy many annual festivals of classical music such as the Vilnius Festival, the St. Christopher's Festival and the Pažaislis Festival, which are even internationally acclaimed and highly esteemed. 


And if you lovejazz jazz, you will be pleasantly surprised that deep jazz tradition is extremely flourishing in Lithuania. We host many famous jazz festivals: for more than 25 years it has held the international jazz festival “Birštonas Jazz”, for 15 years Klaipėda Caste Jazz Festival, traditional Vilnius and “Kaunas Jazz” festivals and many others. Each year we have many guests and listeners from the United States and Europe - they come to Lithuania to listen to new jazz sounds which Lithuanian jazz festivals have to offer.


kazKaziuko mugė (Kaziukas fair) is an annual fest of spring beginning in Vilnius and Kaunas where the best weavers, blacksmiths potters and other craftsman from all over Lithuania gather there each year, the first weekend of March with their hand-made products, according to old Lithuanian ethnographic traditions. The traditional good of the fair – motley-colored Vilnius’ Easter Palms.

Sartai horse racing is an incredible annual event on the first Sunday of February, in a small village - Dusetos with longer than a century history. It attracts thousands of spectators each year to spend an exciting day to see horse race on the ice of the lake!

Moreover, we are very proud to mention that even 5 Lithuanian masterpieces are included into UNESCO World Heritage list: the amazing Vilnius Old Town, beautiful Curonian Spit (picture), mountain of crosses, inimitable tradition of song and dance celebrations as well as Kernavė (old capital of Lithuania) representing disappeared culture.

Basketball is one of the most popular sports in our country. For many people basketball is not only the sport - it is the life philosophy or sometimes even called second religion.of Lithuania. You can feel and smell basketball everywhere. It is even said, that all Lithuanians can be basketball coaches! Nevertheless, being crazy about basketball has paid off - Lithuania is ranked 5th in the World according to FIBA.





And finally you simply must try all the most popular traditional Lithuanian dishes!
